Without A Phone…

Sometimes I think about the past, what things were like, how they used to be. You know what I’ve found? It scares me! It is scary thinking that only six months ago I didn’t have my Droid. That two years ago I didn’t have a smart phone period. Four years ago I didn’t have a personal laptop. Six years ago I didn’t have a cell phone period. What would I do without these things today? I have absolutely no idea.

A while back my Droid started freaking out on me. The screen was non-responsive and it was just pushing buttons on its own. The Verizon store shipped me a new one but it took three days to arrive. Now luckily, I had an extra Blackberry Pearl laying around and was able to use that until I received my new Droid. But I was without a phone for the couple of hours until I got that phone activated and I don’t want to go any longer than that.

I think what scares me so much is that everything is on my phone. My contacts, my pictures, my calendar, my email and all of my Angry Birds scores! If I don’t have my phone, I’m not connected. I can’t text, call, G-Chat, email, Facebook or Twitter or check my calendar away from my computer.

Luckily, all this is saved through my Gmail account (Thank you Google!) but I still wouldn’t have it in my pocket, accessible whenever and where ever.

What would you do? Would you be able to survive without your phone? Your laptop? How long? What is the most important device you use? Let me know in the comments or @DevonSchreiner or @InflectoVita or on our Facebook Page.
