First Impressions Of The X8

I finally received my new mouse in the mail yesterday. You have no idea how excited I was. If you want to know a little bit more, here is a post I made a while ago about a mouse I really have come to not like. I got the package and opened my new mouse, the Microsoft Sidewinder X8.

Before choosing and ordering a mouse, I did a lot of research. I went to Best Buy and tried out every mouse they had set up. I am pretty sure I was making some people there a little uneasy with how thorough I was being with these mice. But I wanted to get the right one.

After testing mice and doing research online, I had the field narrowed to two candidates, the Razer Mamba and the Microsoft Sidewinder X8. After more thinking and finding a 20% off coupon for Newegg.com, I decided on the Sidewinder. I have since received this mouse and have yet to really test it out. Upon opening the packaging and plugging it in, it wouldn’t work. I thought to myself, of course, the driver. After that, it still didn’t work, the battery wasn’t charged. And I couldn’t get it to charge, still can’t. I put in a normal AA battery and the mouse starts working fine but the rechargeable it came with won’t take a charge, even after leaving it over night.

I am going to go and find another rechargeable battery I can try with it but I really do not want to have to call Microsoft and send this thing back in. I want to use it. I hate it when electronics are dead out of the box.
