WordPress 3.0 Is Here

Unbeknownst to the average blog reader but out there for all WordPress users around the globe is the new WordPress 3.0 update. Along with the new default theme, relevant help menus, a new look and a boatload of bug fixes, WordPress has implemented a very nice little menu feature. This menu creator is what I think will become the most used and then forgotten about part of the WordPress 3.0 update.

Code named “Thelonious” after the legendary jazz improvisation guru, WordPress 3.0 looks very good so far. I haven’t been using it for long but it has been working wonderfully so far.

The addition I think that adds the most is the “Menus” feature. You can find it under the “Appearance” tab on the left side of your Dashboard.

This menu tab allows you to easily put together professional drop down menus on the top of your website or over in the sidebar. I did not make any for the top of my blog here because the theme “is not natively compatible”. So if you want to try these menus out, you may have to upgrade to a different theme to do so.

Here is the great little tutorial video that WordPress released with the update that gives a nice little intro into many of the new features.

Have you upgraded to 3.0 yet? Do you like it or not? Tell me what you think in the comments or @DevonSchreiner or @InflectoVita or on our Facebook Page.
