From December 6, 2018 until December 6, 2019, I am 29 years old. This is an interesting number. As I prepare for becoming 30, I feel like a lot is changing. I feel like I’m finally becoming an adult. The 20’s are for college, celebrating, finding your way, and figuring things out. Heading into 30, I want to be prepared and make it the best years of my life.
I have a few goals that I’ve been working towards and want to continue on with while I’m 29 to help me make my 30’s the best years that I’ve had so far. If I can keep up with a few of these, I think I’m not only going to enjoy 29, but I’m trying to set myself up to really enjoy the rest of my life. Here’s what I’m trying to do and what I’m hoping works out for me the rest of this year.
Health and Fitness. I think a common goal for just about everyone is to become healthier. It’s definitely something I want to focus on in the next year and into the future. I can honestly say that I was in the best shape and health of my life in 2017 and I can’t believe I have slipped so much from that point. My goal is to get back to that point, and then surpass it. I want to be in the best shape of my life when I start my 30s.
Leadership. In work and life, I want to become a leader. I want to help people. I want to be the person that everyone wants to be around, work with, and I want to provide something. Whether in my professional life this just means becoming a leader in my current role or switching to moving on to something else more structured around leading, I want that to happen. And I know that isn’t going to happen without my thoughtful actions every single day. I don’t want to become a manager, I want to be a leader. I need to focus on this every day I come to work.
Follow My Passions. In the coming years, I want to follow my passions and really embrace them. Whether that is turning them into a profession or just immersing myself in them to make myself happy, I want to focus on them. I have put a lot of thought into this and have come up with a few things that I am good at, know a lot about, and want to continue growing in. Esports/gaming, photography/droning, music, and beer. Outside of my family and professional responsibilities, these are the things that I am really passionate about and I want to continue on in these areas.
